On July 4, 2014 two lighting concepts by Ingo Maurer were inaugurated in Belval, the new quarter of Esch-sur-Alzette in Luxembourg: the lighting of the disused blast furnaces and five outdoor lighting fixtures called GuddeVol.
Already in 2008 Ingo Maurer presented his lighting concept for the disused blast furnaces in Esch-Belval, Luxembourg in shape of a large and detailed model. To test and demonstrate the lighting effects, one of the furnaces was equipped with projectors temporarily. Design and development of outdoor lighting fixtures are a new field of activites for Ingo Maurer. More information and photos for publication will be available in July 2014.
